Creative Loafing’s Leilani Polk described our music, in an article promoting our comeback show, as having a “high octane roots rock kick”You can read the full article HERE, but we all thought that was an awesome (and apt) description of the sound we’re going for.

With that in mind we would like to take a moment to thank everyone who came out on Sunday (May 12th 2012) to give us a warm welcome! We had a good time playing and hanging out with all the guys from 97X and Khora. We’re excited to get some more summer dates lined up and will keep you updated.

Hey guys, we’re competing to play the 97x Backyard BBQ this year and we’ve already made it through the first round of judging. Now the competition gets a lot more stiff- online voting. We’ve been out of the running for a while due to our six month(ish) hiatus but we have faith that if we can keep a steady race going that we’ll come out of this thing on top.

Please help us out by clicking HERE, scrolling down, and voting for us.

We actually have two chances to get on the bill for the BBQ. One is through the online votes and the other is through a series of battle-of-the-band-esque shows that begin in the next week or so. Our battle will take place at Jonny Reno’s May 12th, beginning around 9 PM. We will be fighting, figuratively, a band named Khora whom we’re actually already acquainted with… so even if we don’t win it should be a good time! Please come support local music!

Scott recently did an interview with Dave from 10.0 Interviews/ Wobble House about our recent hiatus, our influences, and our new direction. Here’s a preview:

1.0 – How did the recent recording session go for you guys?

The recent recording session went super well. We’re in the studio with Andy Wambach up at Audio Impact Studios in Clearwater, Fl and he’s the most laid back engineer/producer we’ve worked with. Super awesome guy at everything he does. We’re almost done with everything this first session. Just gotta finish up vocals and bass then prepare for the next batch of songs we have. Things are lookin great.

2..0 – Will it be continuation of the direction on the debut The Wanderer EP or a new tack for the band?

A lot different from our last recored which is great – its definitely a new track. We’re kinda doin away with the rockabilly/country feel and going for a darker, more raw, rock n roll sound. I feel its more us in a sense and being true to our music is number 1 on our list so we’re super excited to show everyone.”

We’d like to extend a big “Thank You!” to Dave for doing the interview and to our fans, friends, and family for their continued support.

  • “I’d give it a four out of five, these guys are incredibly unique” – John Morrison

The Wanderer EP track list:

  1. The Awakening
  2. Johnny Law
  3. Through Thick And Thin
  4. The Devil In Me
  5. I Won’t Come Around

Note: if you received your physical copy of the EP at a show your copy will hold six tracks rather than five. This sixth track is a bonus song that was randomly chosen from this list:

  • Something In Me
  • Unrequited Love
  • Long Ago

We hope that this clears up any confusion in terms of what sixth track you might have received. These songs will not be released in any other fashion, so feel free to pass around the demo versions. Thank you for your support.

Tonight we played a great set at The Market on 7th in Ybor City Florida. Joining us on stage were a few really great live acts, most notably was SloWriter who’s lead vocalist used to play guitar for The Chariot. It was an awesome experience and we’d like to thank everyone who came out, everyone who fought for the free copies of the EP that we threw out, and everyone who bought merch from the touring bands to help them get to the next city.

Sadly, this will mark a new chapter in our journey as a band. To quote Bono, we’re going to take some time to “dream this whole thing up again” and get re-motivated about the whole thing. This post will mark the official start of our hiatus.

The Wanderer EP is a collection of tracks that were written to show our love and appreciation for the music we grew up with. Our name, The Wanderer, comes from a collaboration between U2 and Johnny Cash and, if you stream the EP all the way through, you’re guaranteed to hear some influences from both of those artists in the music.

We recorded the whole thing live at Morrisound Studios in Tampa Florida. We set up, picked tempos, and played the songs as if the whole thing were a concert. Recording live like that kind of put us in our element and allowed us to capture a sound and energy that were completely ours, aside for a few bits of polishing in post production. The EP also features female vocals from Samantha Jean Satterfield throughout most of its tracks.

Note: Physical copies of the EP are sold out indefinitely. Streaming/ Downloading is the only way to access these tracks. We apologize for the inconvenience.
